Three Years of English Learning
Introduction
English learning is an essential part of the curriculum for third-grade students. Over the past three years, I have been diligently practicing my English skills through reading, speaking, and listening. In this article, I will share my experiences and the progress I have made in learning English.
First Year: Basic Vocabulary and Phonics
During my first year of learning English, I focused on building a strong foundation in basic vocabulary and phonics. We learned the names of various objects, colors, animals, and body parts. We were also introduced to the English alphabet and practiced correct pronunciation using phonics. Through repeated exercises and activities, my classmates and I developed the ability to recognize and pronounce English words accurately.
Second Year: Sentences and Simple Conversations
In the second year, our English lessons became more interactive as we began constructing sentences and having simple conversations. We learned how to make basic sentences using subject-verb-object structures. This allowed us to express ourselves in English more effectively. We also practiced common phrases used in everyday conversations, such as greetings, asking for help, and expressing gratitude. Role-playing activities helped us gain confidence in speaking English and improved our listening skills.
Third Year: Reading and Listening Comprehension
During my third year of learning English, the focus shifted towards reading and listening comprehension. We started reading short stories, children's books, and simple articles. By reading aloud and discussing these texts, we expanded our vocabulary and improved our reading fluency. We also listened to English songs, watched English videos, and participated in listening exercises to enhance our understanding of the language. Engaging in group discussions and projects helped us develop critical thinking and improved our communication skills in English.
Conclusion
Throughout the past three years, my English learning journey has been both challenging and rewarding. From acquiring basic vocabulary and phonics skills to mastering sentence construction and improving reading and listening comprehension, I have made significant progress in my English proficiency. I am grateful for the opportunities provided by my teachers and the support from my classmates. I look forward to further enhancing my English skills as I continue my education and embrace new challenges.
